D'après les dires d'un fan qui étais au quatrième rang, celà n'aurait rien à voir avec un problème de santé. Il s'agirait d'un gros problème technique suivit d'une altercation entre Dave et un ingénieur du son:
All you fawning fan boys/girls out there need to get a grip on reality. I again will tell you what I witnessed from a few feet away. During the first few songs of the set, Dave was continually gesturing over to the sound guys to stage right. Several times he made a twirling motion with both hands seeming to say "speed it up" and went over between songs to talk to the techs after almost every song. I am guessing that the song lyrics were not scrolling at the correct speed to match the songs on the LCD monitors in front of him at the foot of the stage. The sound guys screwed up on the intro to Stripped. They either had the click track off and/or keyed the sequencers wrong. If I had to guess, I would say that it was the click track along with the lyrics that run across the flat screen monitors along the bottom of the stage hidden behind the montiors running along the front of it. Dave started to sing and was watching these monitors and after a few seconds of singing said "Whoa, stop". The song stopped right in the middle. He went over to the side and started to have a heated conversation with the sound guy. He certainly didn't appear like a guy who was sick at all, but he was REALLY pissed off. After some delay, they restarted the intro to Stripped and went on with the song. After stripped, Dave again went to the side, called the sound guy out from the behind his console and again had a heated conversation with him. This went on for a while as Martin was moving to Dave's spot to sing Home. They finished Home, but Dave never came back out. The band looked confused and they went over and talked to the sound guys. At this point one of the sound guys went to the microphone and said, "I'm sorry but we are having some technical problems. I'm not sure if the show will go on. I will get someone official to make an announcement." At this point the band members (minus Dave who was never seen again) hundled somewhat off stage with the sound guys discussing what they were going to do. Some in the crowd took up the, "Martin, Martin" chant, including myself as it was obvious Dave wasn't coming back due to the fucked up sound and click track issues. Martin came back out and said they had "Lost their man in the middle". He said, "That there was a medical issue, not serious, but that they wouldn't be able to continue." The crowd continued to chant Martin's name and after watching the band and sound guys huddling several times and watching the sound guys running back and forth across the stage arranging a new set list, Martin gamely played the rest of the songs they had available for him much to his credit. Now you can say whatever you want, I was there, close to the stage and he didn't appear to be physically sick at all. I was with a friend who is a huge fan and she was just crushed that they gave up and turned on the lights. I've been a big fan for a long time. I felt a lot like some of the words scrolling across their set - words like anger, betrayal, frustration, lies, etc. If Dave is really sick, I wish him well. I still believe it was frustration with the sound issue, an unwillingness to resolve the issue and a petulant star pouting in his dressing room while he left his other band mates hanging out in the wind to dry. If you know the truth beyond what I saw, print it below. Otherwise stop your speculative whining about Dave and his godhood.
Bon... en tout cas je serai ce soir à Rosemont... espérons que le concert se passe bien
