Depeche Mode to announce NYC warm-up show
The rumours have been persistent and now it's finally looking like they are actually ready to make the announcement. New York will be treated to a pre-tour warm-up show before the official launch of Touring The Angel (tagline: Pain and suffering in various countries). This was revealed today by productshopnyc, and confirmed to us by independant sources.
This is seems to be a repeat of the pre-tour show they threw in LA before the start of the Exciter Tour, where the band performed a pre-tour show at The Roxy, playing a brief 11 song set to a select crowd of invitees and competition winners.
The show, rumoured to be taking place at the Bowery Ballroom, a 600 capacity club, is taking place on the 28th of October and is expected to be announced shortly.
*UPDATE*:
Shortly after we ran this story, the official website had this notification posted:
The band will be playing a warm-up club gig in Manhattan, called "Starting the Angel." This will be a small private club show for contest winners. Contest details to come shortly. Stay tuned.
