Une nouvelle exposition sur Ian Curtis ouvrira à New York cet été et présentera du matériel d'archives rare, y compris des paroles manuscrites de Joy Division.
Tenue à la 'Voltz Clarke Gallery' entre le 25 juin et le 22 juillet, Ian Curtis : 'Insight' apportera pour la première fois des pièces d'archives
du défunt chanteur aux États-Unis et offrira une nouvelle perspective sur l’artiste emblématique de Manchester.
À l’affiche, il y aura une sélection "intime et révélatrice" de paroles manuscrites, de photographies, de lettres personnelles, d’éphémères et d’objets.
Ils sont ramenés de la 'John Rylands Library' de l'Université de Manchester, où ils sont hébergés dans le cadre de la British Pop Archive.
L’exposition cherche à capturer 'la tension, la tendresse et l’énergie créative brute' que Curtis a capturée dans sa musique,
et explorer comment il a trouvé l’inspiration à la fin des années 1970 à Manchester, avec ses paysages industriels, son urgence DIY et plus encore.
Beaucoup de pièces d'archives ne sont jamais venues aux États-Unis auparavant, et les organisateurs disent que les faire traverser l'océan maintenant,
46 ans après la mort de Curtis, prouve comment sa musique continue de résonner avec les gens à travers le monde.

Fruit de plusieurs années de travail, cet album exceptionnel rassemble l'audio de 16 concerts sur 14 CD, soigneusement sélectionnés à partir d'enregistrements amateurs sur cassette, de bandes de console et d'enregistrements radio, le tout masterisé aux studios Abbey Road.

Eternal (Live) immortalise certains des concerts les plus marquants de la carrière de Joy Division, dont deux concerts inédits, Hope & Anchor et Acklam Hall, et trois enregistrements jamais diffusés auparavant : The Factory, Lyceum et Moonlight Club (2 avril). Ce coffret inclut également le dernier concert du groupe, donné au High Hall de Birmingham en 1980.

Deux DVD proposent plus de 2 h 30 de concerts, dont le concert inédit de Plan K à Bruxelles, ainsi que deux concerts et la balance son de l'Apollo Theatre de Manchester, partiellement sortis en VHS (en 1982). On y trouve également un nouveau montage de « Joy Division - A Malcolm Whitehead Film ».

j'ai la désagréable tâche d'informer la communauté des fans de JD que si le titre "Transmission" (Les Bains Douches, Paris, 18 décembre 1979) posté ici https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUXhMhLRptg sur la chaine officielle YT du groupe/Warner/Rhino est celui qui sortira sur le CD6 du coffret "Eternal", alors j'ai plusieurs mauvaises nouvelles.

Ce n'est pas le pre-FM complet que possède Bernard Lenoir (et qui a peut-être été légué aux AN en 2015 ?) et que n'a jamais possédé (à priori ?) ni France Inter ni l'INA.

C'est mon remaster du concert entier que j'ai diffusé en 2010 et qui est un upgrade du remaster de Drew ( https://thepowerofindependenttrucking.b ... ision.html - Drew ayant en particulier surfacé une source DAT de la diffusion radio de 1994, éclipsant le CD officiel sorti en 2001, voir plus bas) mis à dispo lui aussi gratuitement en décembre 2009, upgrade surtout réalisé grâce à l'enregistrement par Viet de la diffusion radio de "C'est Lenoir" du 18 mai 2010 (12 titres, dont 4 inédits radio, merci Bernard !).

Sous la vidéo YT de "Transmission", on trouve le copyright ℗ 2026 INA, under license to Warner Music UK Ltd. qui est donc un mensonge éhonté.
L'INA ne possède pas cette version du concert de Paris, vu que celle d' "Eternal" utilise un enregistrement de la diffusion radio 2010 mixé par mes soins avec l'enregistrement audience (peut-être enregistré par le grand frère de Thomas Croquet, chanteur de Phoenix ?).
Il suffit de comparer avec le nullissime "Les Bains Douches" sorti officiellement en 2001 chez NMC qui utilise un (mauvais) enregistrement MiniDisc de la diffusion radio de 1994 : aucun crédit n'est donné à l'INA, et pour cause...
Si Warner a payé les droits usuriers demandés habituellement par l'INA pour l'utilisation de contenus audio ou vidéo, et bien la major s'est sacrément fait avoir !

Bref, on sait déjà que l'enregistrement de Paris va être un downgrade, est-ce que les autres sources, déjà disponibles ou inédites, vont subir un traitement sonore similaire ?
Je sèche déjà mes larmes en pensant à l'étude raisonnée que je vais devoir faire du contenu du boxset...
