After the Pixies and Dead Can Dance, another band from the cultlabel 4AD has reformed: the Cocteau Twins. The band will debut live for the very first time since 1996 at the Coachella festival in Los Angeles, CA that takes place on April 30th and May 1st. Liz Fraser, Robin Guthrie and Simon Raymonde had a reunion for the first tim ein 8 years at the end of last month to talk about the future of the band. At the moment there are no plans for a complete tour or a new album, but never say never... Rehearsals for the Coachella show will probably begin in April. Possibly there will be a few "warm-up" concerts to prepare for the actual gig in California. The full on-stage lineup for the 30 April performance will be Elizabeth Fraser, Robin Guthrie, Simon Raymonde, Mitsuo Tate (guitar) and Damon Reece (drums). In related news, Liz Fraser will be performing live with Massive Attack in Bristol at Bristol Academy on February 19th. She is also reportedly collaborating with acclaimed French composer and musician Yann Tiersen ("Amélie" soundtrack) on his new album.
