I've been collaborating with the Norwegian duo Royksopp for the upcoming album 'Junior', which will be out on March 23rd.
I arranged and performed all strings for the following tunes: The Girl And The Robot, Royksopp Forever, You Don't Have A Clue and Silver Cruiser.
More tracks will follow on their 'twin' album 'Senior', coming out later 2009.
-Why Junior?
"For six months we worked simultaneously on the two albums. In addition to 'Junior', we have, logically, a 'Senior'. We are schizophrenic in that way - one day, we want to do something quickly and happily for a club, three hours later, we want to do something for an old age home."
-So, 'Senior' is your gubbrock album? (Blues, Pub Rock, Classic Rock)
"Yes, our "Blues" album! No, but it is a bit more introverted and completely instrumental. A little bit calmer, for those who are old and demented. It might be ready in time for Autumn."
-Lykke Li, Robyn, and Karen Dreijer all sing on the album. Don't you have any good female
singers in Norway?
"You had your fantastic World Cup song in 1994, when you struck gold in the USA. Now we have struck gold in Sweden! We are very pleased with our Swedish loans. They are three very peculiar voices."
